Education in India has indeed come a long way, Delhi Education minister, Kiran Walia asked the government schools to provide transport facility to pick up students straight from their abode.

This initiative has been taken to push the students who have not been doing very well in academics to attend the remedial classes.

This decision came after a meeting with the senior officials of the Directorate of Education held on 11 February 2013.

Apparently, Kiran insisted on a counselor, who should be appointed for every three districts to help children who feel nervous or stressed out due to the upcoming board examinations.

Every school principal should have the counsellors’ number and parents too could also approach these counselors directly in case of need.

Finally, by the end of the meeting, the minister asked the deputy directors of education in districts to regulate and ensure that students attend schools regularly.
