    Job burnout as the term suggests is experiencing continual dissatisfaction with your current job leading to depression and physical illness. The burnout stage may vary from mild boredom to being uninterested in the work completely.

    When you see someone at work who remains unhappy and are less productive, they might be undergoing job burnout stage where one doesn’t feel like turning up to office. There could be many causes and reasons behind the same. So take a look at the signs that will help you identify if you are suffering from job burnout:

    1. You are Bored with your profile

    If the thought of going to works makes you yawn and thinking about the tasks in hand scares you, you are suffering from job burnout. A monotonous work profile is one of the basic reasons to feel lifeless despite of being associated with big brands. And when a person is bored at length they become less productive and the quality of work also deteriorates.

    The best mode if swim across the river of boredom is to keep rolling like a stone so that you don’t gather any moss. In short, open the gates of learning more. Keep enriching your existing knowledge pool. Register for some latest courses that enhance your KSA. You can also talk to your manager to enrich your job profile with some new tasks or to change your profile that allows you take some time off the monotonous job.

    2. You feel stressed when at work

    Do you often experience symptoms such as nervousness, fatigue, headaches, stomach aches, insomnia? They symbolise they you are stressed and need to take a break from the routine job. One of the probable reasons could be a job burnout as well.

    Do not let the stress take away your inner happiness. Get involved in recreational activities that will help you relieve stress. Meet your manager and ask if they can change your profile. If nothing works, consider changing your niche in which you currently operate.

    3. You are always overworked with tasks

    Do you find your table filled with incomplete files and new tasks making their way on your desk? Is your backlog increasing at a light year’s speed and you find it hard to complete it? These might be the initial signs that you are overworked with commitments than you can actually fulfil. 

    Don’t get mad at yourself. Take a deep breath and tell yourself that you will put in your best efforts to compete the task. If you feel that the work is beyond your potential to comply with, take help of your juniors and colleagues. Talk to your manager about this issue.

    4. Time seems to standstill 

    If the ticking of clock makes you restless and you wait for the clock to tick 6 so that you can leave office as early as possible, then you might be in trouble. If you feel that passing time in office is getting increasingly tough for you, then you are inviting more trouble for yourself. And if you feel that time comes to a standstill when you arrive office then you are the victim of job burnout.

    Save yourself from more suffering and start looking for another job that gives you peace of mind. Get a job that fills your heart with passion so that you feel connected to the work profile. Make your day worthwhile and time won’t ever come to a standstill.

    When you start getting introverted with the same people with whom you were comfortable once; when you experience inferiority complex from your colleagues on regular basis; when you do not wish to be a part of social gatherings organised at workplace; you might be ailing from job burnout. Withdrawal symptoms like these are common when a person gets uninterested in the work.

    Remember that avoiding others is no solution and can never work out for anyone. It will only make the situation grave. Keep your mind open and interact with everyone or you might end up getting depressed lately.
