A. Nationality / Citizenship
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January,1962,with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar),Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him/her by the Government of India.

B. Age Limit: 18-27 years

C. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board. All candidates who are called for appearing at the Typing Test/Skill Test will be required to produce the relevant Certificate in Original such as Mark sheets, Provisional Certificate, etc. as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification failing which the candidature of such candidate will be cancelled by the Commission.
The candidates who are able to prove, by documentary evidence that the result of the qualifying examination was declared on or before the cutoff date and he/she has been declared passed, will also be considered to have the required Educational Qualification.

SSC CHSL Exam Process
SSC CHSL Exam consist of two stages of exam officially called as the Tier I and Tier II in the SSC CHSL Notification. SSC CHSL Tier I exam works as a filter for the Tier II exam. The huge number of candidates appearing in the CHSL Exam Tier I and only Tier I passed candidates appear in the SC CHSL Tier II Exam.
SSC CHSL Tier I Exam
The Tier I SSC CHSL exam is an objective type test divided into four sections, General Intelligence, English Language (Basic Knowledge), Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) and General Awareness.
Also One thing is very important to note here that there is negative marking for every wrong answer. Candidates qualifying the Tier I exam securing the qualifying marks will be selected for the Tier II exam.

100 Days preparation plan to crack SSC CHSL exam
Candidates who qualify the Tier I exam by securing the required qualifying marks as notified by the SSC will be allowed to appear for the Tier II descriptive paper. The cutoff marks for different categories will be released by SSC with the declaration of marks. The Tier II exam is the second stage of SSC CHSL Exam and it evaluates the necessary writing skills of the candidates which are necessary of government jobs.
The paper asks questions regarding the essay writing (200-250 words) and letter/application writing of approximately 150-200 words. Total marks for the Tier II exam is 100 and it will held offline i.e. pen and paper mode. Candidates will have to secure 33% as their minimum qualifying marks to qualify this stage of SSC CHSL. The candidates can write the Essay and Letter/Application in English as well as in Hindi.
