SSC JHT Examination 2018 Notification for Recruitment of Various Posts to be Out Soon

SSC JHT Examination 2018 Update: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will soon release the official notification of Junior Hindi Translator Exam 2018. Candidates can keep a check on the official site of SSC to know further about the details.

The revised annual calendar stated that the official notification was to be out on 01 September 2018. The last date to apply for the position is fixed till 21 September 2018. But the notification is still not out and the Commission has still not issued any notice regarding the delay in releasing of the notification.

Every year the commission releases various vacancies for the posts of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak Post. The Commission will hold an Open Competitive Online Examination for the posts and the examination will consist of two papers i.e. Paper I and Paper II. Candidates will have to appear for Paper I followed by Paper II.

Candidates who have completed their Master's Degree in English or Hindi can apply for the post of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator while candidates with Bachelor's in Hindi with English are eligible for Hindi Pradhyapak Post. Candidates can apply online for the posts by visiting the official website of SSC via http://ssc.nic.in.

SSC JHT Exam 2018 Vacancy Details

  • Junior Translator in Central Secretariat Official Language Service
  •  Junior Translator in Ministry of Railway (Railway Board)
  • Junior Translator in Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ)
  • Junior Translator/Junior Hindi Translator in subordinate offices who have adopted Model RRs of DoP&T for JT/JHT
  • Senior Hindi Translator in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/Offices
  • Junior Translator/Junior Hindi Translator in subordinate offices who have not yet adopted Model RRs of DoP&T for JT/JHT
  • Junior Translator/Junior Hindi Translator in subordinate

SSC JHT Exam 2018 Pay Scale:

  • Junior Translator / Junior Hindi Translator - Level 6 (Rs.35400- 112400)
  • Senior Hindi Translator - Level  7 (Rs.44900- 142400)
  • Hindi Pradhyapak - Level 8 (Rs.47600- 151100)

Eligibility Criteria for SSC JHT Exam 2018

Educational Qualification and Experience:

For Junior Translator -  Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR  Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination at the degree level; OR  Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master’s Degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level. Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.

Senior Hindi Translator - Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR  Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination at the degree level; OR Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master’s Degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level. Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or three years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.

Junior Translator / Junior Hindi Translator - Master’s degree in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level, Or Bachelor’s degree with Hindi and English as main subjects (which includes the term compulsory and elective)

Hindi Pradhyapak -  Bachelor’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subject at degree level either as compulsory or optional and Master’s degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute plus B.Ed OR Bachelor’s degree in any subject and Master’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at degree level either as compulsory or optional plus B.Ed

Age Limit for SSC JHT Exam 2018:

Not exceeding 30 years (Age is relaxable for reserved categories as per government rules)

Selection Procedure for SSC JHT Exam 2018

The selection will be done on the basis of performance in  Paper I and Paper II only. Candidates who would secure the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I shall be allowed to appear for Paper II.

Exam Pattern for SSC JHT Exam 2018:

Paper I - The questions will evaluate the candidates’ understanding of the languages and literature, correct use of words, phrases and idioms and ability to write the languages correctly, precisely and effectively. The questions will be of degree level. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer

Paper II - The paper will contain two passages for translation-one passage for translation from Hindi to English and one passage for translation from English to Hindi, and an Essay each in Hindi and English. The questions will be framed to test the candidates’ translation skills and their ability to write as well as comprehend the two languages correctly, precisely and effectively

How to Apply for SSC JHT Exam 2018

The eligible candidates can apply to the post in the prescribed format  through official website before the last date of application

SSC JHT 2018 Application Fee:

Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) should be paid through SBI Challan/SBI Net banking or through credit/debit cards of any bank (SC/st/PwD/ Ex-servicemen/Women candidates are exempted from paying fee)
