SSC Notified Prasar Bharti for Programme Executive and Transmission Executive Exam-2013

    Prasar Bharati (PB), a statutory autonomous body established under the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act 1990, is India‘s largest broadcaster and comprises Doordarshan & All India Radio.

    Staff Selection Commission, under special dispensation given by the Government, issued notification for filling up 1238 posts of Program Executive, Transmission Executive and Production Assistant in PB’s offices spread all over the country. Interested eligible candidates can apply online till 19 April 2013.

    M.A. / M.Sc + record of literary / dramatic / debating activities or publications or popular science + proficiency in relevant language. OR Graduate in any discipline + Diploma of at least two years duration in Dramatic arts or Direction or Cinematography or Sound recording and Sound Design or Editing or Acting or art Direction and production design OR Diploma in music of at least two years duration OR “B” High Grading by All India Radio for broadcasting as vocalist or instrumentalist OR Diploma of at least two years duration in Journalism OR Research publication on folk or tribal music; or proficiency in composing light music with evidence of such music having been accepted by film or broadcasting organization or music recording company + other desired qualifications.

    Age Limit (as on 1 January 2103):
    Maximum:
    30 years
    The maximum age limit will be relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, by 3 years for OBC candidates, up to 5 years for employees of Prasar Bharti.

    Selection Process: Selection for all the posts will be done on the basis of candidates’ performance in the Written Examination and Interview, which will be conducted by Staff Selection Commission.

    There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in all Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions.
    Candidates must carry at least one photo bearing ID proof in original such as Driving Licence, Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, Identity Card issued by University/College, Income Tax Pan Card to the examination center, failing which they shall not be allowed to appear in the examination.
    In the question papers, wherever necessary, the Metric systems of weight & measures only will be used.

    The SSC may conduct the descriptive test (paper-II) to check the knowledge of language and literature relevant to the post applied for. Paper-II (if conducted) of only those candidates will be evaluated who meet the cut off for Paper-I. Only those candidates who meet the cut off in Paper-II (if conducted) will be called for Interview. Questions in both the papers will be of a level commensurate with Qualifications prescribed for posts.

    Scrutiny of documents will be undertaken at the time of Interview or document verification. Final results will be declared by the Prasar Bharti after receiving merit list (Zone wise, Post wise, Category wise) from SSC.

    Appointment of empanelled candidates will be subject to their being found medically fit, verification of character and antecedents and verification of caste certificate wherever applicable. All appointments will be subject to the Rules and Regulations of the Prasar Bharati, in-force from time to time.

    The candidates on selection to a particular Zone may be posted in any state within the jurisdiction of that Zone. However, they are also liable to be posted anywhere in the country in the interest of the Prasar Bharati.

    Admission Certificates (ACs) for the Examination indicating the time table and also venues of examination for each candidate will be issued to all applicants about two weeks before the date of examination by the respective regional
    office of SSC. Candidates can download the ACs from the concerned SSC Regional / Sub-regional offices website. Such facility will be available about two weeks before the examination.

    Candidates, who are unable to download their Admission Certificates or do not receive their Admission Certificates at least one week before the date of the examination, should contact the concerned Regional Office with details
    such as Registration ID, Transaction ID for obtaining the Admission Certificates.

    Travel Allowance: No TA will be provided for the Written Test.

    Application Fee: Non-refundable application fee of Rs.200 has to be deposited in any branch of State Bank of India (SBI) either through fee payment Challan or using Net-banking facility.

    SC / ST / PH / Ex-SM and Female candidates are exempted from paying fees.

    How to Apply: Interested eligible candidates can apply online through the website.
    Part I Registration will be open till 17 April 2013 while Part II Registration can be done till 19 April 2013.

    On successful Part I Registration, a page with Registration No will be generated. Candidates should take its print out. Next, they should pay the fee through any of the prescribed method -- online through SBI net banking or in cash by SBI bank Challan and then continue with the Part II registration.

    On successful Part-II registration, candidates will receive emails regarding the same. Candidates should retain a Copy of email & Challan for any further assistance. Candidates should also retain the Registration Number assigned to them Online and Details of Payment of Fee for further correspondence with the Commission. They should not submit print outs of their Application to the Commission.

    NOTE: Proficiency in relevant language means that the candidate must have studied that language up to Matriculation.

    Candidates should submit only one application irrespective of the number of posts opted for.

    Candidates in their own interest are advised to provide their mobile numbers and e-mail ids so that updates related to exam, result, admit cards etc could be SMSed / mailed to them.

    All candidates who apply by the last date will be assigned Roll numbers. These will be communicated to them or placed on the website of the concerned Regional Office at least two weeks before the date of the examination.
