The pattern of JEE exam was changed this year and stumped the students. Some single answered queries have no negative marking whereas some multiple choice questions have negative marking. This latest marking scheme surprised students who were appeared in the JEE (Advanced) that held on 2 June 2013. It was conducted in two separate portions Paper I and Paper II. However, the sections of both the paper were similar and comprised of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Paper I included 60 questions and contained a total of 180 marks. Mathematics was the toughest section between the trio. Physics and chemistry also consisted tricky questions however they were easier than the Mathematics. Paper II was also divided in three parts similar to Paper I besides the number of questions was also same. The main difference that students encountered that the sections of Paper II have more lengthy questions although they were easier than the previous section.
