TNEA 2014 Counselling postponed

    TNEA 2014 Counselling postponed:
    Tamilnadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2014 General Academic Counselling which is scheduled to be held on June 27, 2014, has been postponed till further notice, by an order of Hon’ble Supreme Court. No new dates has been announced for the counselling. It is announced by Anna University that the date for the TNEA 2014 General Academic Counselling will be announced later. Hon’ble Supreme Court has expressed that adhering to the present schedule of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission 2014 Counselling is inappropriate due to applications pending before the AICTE for grant of approval to certain technical institutions. So, the counselling procedure stands postponed till any further notice. The Hon’ble Supreme Court has also directed AICTE to consider the applications of New Engineering Colleges in Tamilnadu with in a week’s time

    In view of the orders passed on 26.6.2014 by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in the Writ Petitions Nos. 538 of 2014 etc., granting 7 days time to AICTE to take a decision on all the applications pending before the AICTE for grant of approval to certain technical institutions and in view of the opinion expressed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court that it would not be appropriate to adhere to the present schedule of counselling published by (TNEA-2014), Engineering the the Tamil Nadu General Admissions Engineering Academic scheduled to Admissions Counselling commence for from 27.6.2014 stands postponed.

    The revised date of counselling for the candidates who have been called for counselling from 27.6.2014 onwards will be informed shortly.
