Essential Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Horticulture or its equivalent qualification (as on 17 December 2013)
Selection Procedure: Selection will be done on the basis of candidates’performance in two successive stages
(i) Main Examination in Computer Based Test format and
(ii) Oral Test.
Main Examination in Computer Based Test format: For the written exam, candidate will have to report at the allotted examination Center along with the Hall Ticket (Admission Card) and ID proof in original. After Id verification and completion of other formalities, each candidate will be assigned a Computer and they will be provided with a user name and password to login the system.
What is Computer Based Test (CBT) format: Computer Based Test or CBT is similar to paper pen shading test. In CBT format, a question with four answer options will be displayed on the computer screen. Candidate will be required to click the correct answer, using the mouse, from the options provided for the question.
Standard of Vision: Standard-III;
Candidate should not be Colour blind.
Candidates will have to produce an Eye Fitness Certificate from a qualified Eye Specialist.
Examination Centre: Examination will be held at Chennai Centre only
The exam is tentatively scheduled for 16 March 2014.
Examination Fees: Candidates registered with TNPSC are required to pay non-refundable fees of Rs.175 (Rs.50 as Cost of Application+Rs.125 as Examination fee)/Rs. 50 (as Cost of Application for those claiming exemption from examination fee) either through online mode or through offline mode.
