    SP Jain Mumbai is one of the top b-schools in the country. The admission process for the PGDM 2019-21 batch at SPJIMR began on September 20, 2018 and the last date to apply is November 23, 2018. The admission criteria and process for the SPJIMR are unique in the sense that the candidates are shortlisted even before the declaration of the entrance exam results as they are shortlisted on the basis of their profiles. However, candidates are expected to score the minimum required qualifying score/percentile in the entrance exams. SPJIMR will be considering XAT 2019/CAT 2018/GMAT exam scores for admission to their PGDM program.

    The management programs at SP Jain Mumbai aim to lay a strong foundation for both conceptual and practical understanding of the managerial concepts among its students. Aspirants can check the management program offered by SPJIMR as given below:

    Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)

    The PGDM course offered at SPJIMR, Mumbai is a two-year full-time postgraduate level management program. This program has been deemed equivalent to an MBA degree by the Association of Indian Universities. It also has accreditations from international agencies such as UK based Association of MBAs. The programme allows students to specialise in different fields such as Finance, Information Management, Marketing, and Operations. Students can also opt for a minor in the areas of Analytics, Consulting, Finance, Information Management, Marketing and Operations, and Supply Chain.

    SPJIMR Programme-wise Eligibility Criteria

    Candidates aspiring to pursue the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) at SPJIMR need to first meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by the institute to be eligible to participate in the admission shortlisting process. The eligibility criteria prescribed by the university is as given below:

    • Candidates need to have successfully passed their bachelor's (minimum 3-year duration) or equivalent degree from a recognised institute/university.  
    • Candidates appearing for the final year examination of their bachelor's degree are also eligible to apply.
    • Candidates need to apply and appear for either CAT 2018, XAT 2019 or GMAT (within last 3 years) to be eligible to participate in the admission process of SPJIMR.

    SPJIMR PGDM 2019-21 Admission Process

    SPJIMR Admission Process for the 2019-21 admission batch includes the below given steps:

    Step 1: Register and Apply for admission at SPJIMR

    Candidates are required to register and apply for admission to the programme of their preference at SPJIMR. They are also required to specify their two specialisation preferences among Finance, Information management, Marketing Management and Operations and Supply Chain. 

    Step 2: Appear for the Entrance Exam

    Candidates aspiring to secure admission at a post graduate level management program at SPJIMR for 2019-21 batch need to first appear for either CAT 2018 or XAT 2019 or GMAT entrance exams. They are also required to score the minimum required percentile in the exam to be eligible for the admission shortlisting process.

    Step 3: Shortlisting of Candidates

    There are two rounds involving the admission shortlisting process at the SPJIMR. In the first round candidates are shortlisted based on their profile and their scores in the entrance exams. In the second round, candidates shortlisted in the first round are required to appear for the interview rounds for the final selection process. The final selection process of candidates is based on a wide range of parameters that includes the candidate’s profile, entrance exam scores, performance in the interview round, work experience etc.

    Step 4: Final Admission Offers

    SPJIMR makes the final admission offers to the shortlisted candidates around the last week of April/first week of May on the basis of the candidate’s final merit score.

    SPJIMR Admission Shortlisting Criteria

    SPJIMR has a two-step admission shortlisting criteria for candidates for admission to the PGDM programs offered by the institute. The first step involves the shortlisting of candidates on the basis of their profiles and the second step includes shortlisting of candidates on the basis of their profiles and their entrance exam scores. The admission shortlisting criteria for the 2019-21 PGDM batch are as given below:

    Step 1: Shortlisting candidates based on their profile

    • SPJIMR admission shortlisting process is a little unique, they shortlist potential candidates for the admission shortlisting process even before the announcement of the entrance exam results.
    • The first phase of the admission shortlisting process involves shortlisting of candidates based on their profile. Candidates are called in for an early interview on the basis of their profile. The profile based shortlisting is done on the basis of the following factors – consistency of candidate’s academic records, relevant work experience for the chosen specialization, versatility and achievements.

    Step 2: Shortlisting Candidates based on their Profile and Entrance Exam Score

    • The second phase of the admission shortlisting criteria at the SPJIMR begins after the announcement of the entrance exam results. Candidates are shortlisted based on their profile and their performance in the entrance exams.
    • Candidates are called in for the interview rounds for the final selection process basis their profile and entrance exam scores.

    SPJIMR Final Admission Selection Criteria

    Candidates can refer to the SPJIMR Final Admission Selection criteria as given below:

    • All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in the final selection round for the admission process at the SPJIMR Mumbai.
    • The final list of the shortlisted candidates is made on the basis of a composite score that takes into account the candidate’s profile, academic records, entrance test scores, work experience, performance in the GD rounds etc.

    SPJIMR 2019-21 Course Fees

    The total program fees for the PGDM courses offered at SPJIMR Mumbai is Rs 16,00,000/-. This does not include expenses related to laptop, personal expenses on boarding, travel and laundry. The institute may, however, increase the program fee for the PGDM 2019-21 batch after making adjustments for inflations.
