    Indian Institute of Management, Raipur aims to nurture ethical business leaders who are not only committed to industry and commerce but also are socially inclined towards their effective contribution in building the nation and take the country forward at an international level.   

    According to the recently released admission policy of IIM, Raipur, 32% has been allotted to CAT score followed by 30% weightage to WAT/PI rounds and the remaining 38% weightage is distributed among various aspects like diversity, work experience and academic record, which we are going to elaborate in this article.

    IIM Raipur: Programmes Offered

    The PGP-M (Post Graduate Programme in Management) is the flagship programme of IIM Raipur. The programme adheres to holistic development of students and nurtures them as future business leaders to face the global industrial challenges successfully. The objective of this 2 year Post-Graduate Programme is to develop global mindset among students and increase their affinity to work with zeal and passion. Other than following the updated management curriculum, the programme intends to bring upfront the importance of socio-cultural and socio-economic aspects to the students.

    Besides, the flagship programme, the following programmes are also offered by IIM Raipur:

    • Executive Fellow Program in Management (EFPM)
    • Fellow Programme in Management (FPM)

    IIM Raipur: Programme-wise Eligibility Criteria

    The eligibility criteria of various programmes offered at IIM Raipur are listed below:       

    PGP - Candidates need to have a Bachelor’s Degree with 50% marks (for general candidates) and 47% marks (for NC-OBC; 45% for SC/ST/DAP candidates) in any discipline from a recognized university.

    FPM - Candidates need to have Master’s degree in any discipline with at-least 60% marks in aggregate Or CA, ICWA, CS with at least 60% marks Or B.E./B.Tech.) with at least 60% marks in aggregate.

    EFPM - Candidates should have a Master’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at-least 60% marks Or PGP/ EPGP/ PGPWE degree from any of the IIMs with CGPA of 6.0 out of 10 Or B.E./B.Tech.) with at least 60% marks in aggregate.

    IIM Raipur: Admission Process

    The prime objective of IIM Raipur’s admission process is to identify and shortlist meritorious candidates who are the best fit for management studies. The admission process of IIM Raipur includes:

    • CAT Exam Score
    • Short-listing candidates on the basis of CAT score for Personal Appearance (PA) process
    • The PA Process is composed of Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI)
    • Preparing the final admission list on the basis of CAT score, WAT & PI score and Profile Score

    IIM Admission: Admission Cutoffs          

    The CAT percentile will be used for shortlisting candidates for WAT and PI. The tentative category-wise minimum percentile is as follows:

    The first step of selection procedure at IIM Raipur includes shortlisting candidates on the basis of CAT Score. The minimum CAT 2017 percentile for the PGP Bath of 2018-20 is presented below in the tabular format:

    It solely depends on the IIM Raipur Admission Committee to decide the number of candidates to be called for PA process on the basis of shortlisted merit list. The section-wise minimum score of CAT exam can be reduced or increased depending upon the number of shortlisted candidates to be less or more respectively.

    IIM Raipur: Admission Shortlisting Criteria 

    The criteria for preparing the Merit List will be as follows:

    • CAT Score: 32%
    • Personal Appearance (WAT & PI): 30%
    • Profile: 38%

    Note: In the personal appearance round 10% weightage is given to WAT and 20% weightage is given to PI.

    What is the Profile Score?

    It is important to note that 38% weightage is given to profile when it comes to shortlist candidates. The following weightages will be considered for profiling:

    • Academic Profile : 20
    • Work experience : 6
    • Diversity : 12

    For Academic Profile, following will be the weights

    • 10th Standard : 7
    • 12th Standard : 6
    • Graduation : 7

    While merit is the prime consideration, IIM Raipur also wishes to promote diversity in its PGP. Hence, it strives to ensure a better balance between gender  and among various academic disciplines.

    IIM Raipur: Final Admission Selection Criteria

    The final selection criteria for admission to PGP program is done on the basis of CAT Percentile. The admission committee shortlist candidates on the basis of CAT Score, and then the shortlisted candidates are required to go through personal appearance process that includes written ability test and personal interview. After that, the final score including the profile score is calculated to finally give admission offers to candidates.
