With the admission season at its peak, Delhi’s crème de le schools seem to have forgotten the basic rules for admissions into the junior classes.
Schools like Modern School, Barakhamba Road, Amity International School, Saket and Gyan Bharati School, Saket have asked students seeking admissions between classes 2- 8 to take an entrance examination , which is a direct violation of the RTE act.
The act mentions that no school, while admitting students in school can subject students or parents to any screening procedure. The act also guarantees free and compulsory elementary quality education to all the children aged between 6- 14.
Students applying for Classes 6 to 9 in Modern School have to take the test on 22 March 2013. Gyan Bharati is done with it and results will be out on 9 March 2013.
