The UP board’s Class 10 English examination has been cancelled at two centres in Mathura district on Monday following the reports of alleged mass cheating. However, the date of re-examination will be finalised once all the examinations are over, said the officials.
The two centres where the cheating took place are also recommended to be blacklisted.
District Inspector of Schools, IP Singh Solanki, said action has also been taken against invigilators in these centres and their principals have been asked to submit a report on the action taken against the teachers there.
The action was taken after the incidence of mass copying was detected during the English paper of Class 10 in Vachvan Behari Inter college and Sardar Patel Inter college in the district.
“So far 61 students were caught cheating in various examinations. 8 centre superintendents and 12 teachers have been replaced for not controlling cheating”, Solanki said.

A total of 7,802 examinees in high school and 5,708 in the intermediate level of the UP board have dropped out this year,.
To keep a check on such incidents, the newly formed Uttar Pradesh government under BJP's Yogi Adityanath, has issued a helpline number to report cases of cheating in UP Board Exam. The complaints can be registered on a WhatsApp number 9454457241 or on landline number 0522 2236760.
