UPSC CSE 2022 Recruitment Notification (OUT): 1000+ Vacancies Notified, Registration Started for Civil Service/IAS/IFS Prelims Exam

UPSC CSE 2022 Recruitment Notification: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has activated the application link of CSE Exam 2022 for Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS) on upsc.gov.in. Aspirants who are preparing for UPSC Civil Service Exam can apply online for UPSC IAS 2022 from 02 February 2022 on UPSC Online Website (upsconline.nic.in). The last date for submitting UPSC CSE Application is 22 February 2022 till 6 PM.

A total of 861 vacancies are available for various services and posts to be filled through Civil Services Examination (CSE) for IAS 2022 and 151 for IFS 2022

UPSC CSE Prelims Exam for all the applicants is scheduled to be held on 05 June 2022 (Sunday) across the country. Applicants will be issued UPSC CSE Admit Card 2022 three weeks before the commencement of the examination.

Those who clear IAS Prelims exam will be called for the mains exam and will have to apply online again and submit on-line Detailed Application Form-I [DAF-I] along with scanned documents/certificates. Qualified candidates in UPSC CSE Mains Exam will appear for the interview round.

UPSC CSE Eligibility Criteria 2022

Educational Qualification:

  • IAS - Graduation in any field.
  • IFS - Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification

UPSC CSE Age Limit:

  • Gen - 21 to 32 years 
  • SC/ST - 21 to 37 years
  • OBC - 21 to 35 years

Nationality:

  • For IAS, IFS, IPS - A candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • For other services - A candidate must be either:— (a) a citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Every candidate will be given 6 attempts to appear in CSE. However there is reservation for following categories:

  • SC /ST - Unlimited
  • OBC - 9
  • PwBD - 09 for GL/EWS/OBC Unlimited for SC/ST

  • Current events of national and international importance.
  • History of India and Indian National Movement.
  • Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
  • Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc. Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
  • General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do notrequire subject specialization.
  • General Science.

Paper 2:

  • Comprehension;
  • Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
  • Logical reasoning and analytical ability;
  • Decision making and problem solving;
  • General mental ability;
  • Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data

33% in General Studies Paper-II of Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination and total qualifying marks of General Studies Paper-I of Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination as may be determined by the Commission.

The commission will prepare a merit list for each stage and upload it on its website.
