Suhail Qasim Mir has secured 125th Rank in Civil Services Exam 2016 (CSE 2016). He belongs to a humble family from Bijbehara’s Sirhama Village in the Anantnag district of south Jammu and Kashmir and his father Mohammad Qasim Mir is a head constable posted at Hazratbal in Jammu and Kashmir Police services and mother is a homemaker. Twenty-six year old Suhail Qasim Mir has cleared this coveted IAS exam in his 2nd attempt.
Suhail graduated from the government degree college in Bemina in Srinagar before moving to Delhi 2012 for management studies and completed MBA in 2014 from Jamia Millia Islamia University. He is also pursuing Ph.D degree from the Jamia Millia Islamia.
In this video, he has shared his journey of success in IAS Exam 2016. He mentioned in the video that he had never an inclination to pursue a career in the private sector. UPSC IAS Exam was not a childhood dream for him, but during MBA from Jamia Millia Islamia, he evaluated various career options available to him and then he decided to join the civil services because it offers something beyond a person. The scope of UPSC IAS Exam and the capacity of an administrator to serve the large number of people in a society which made him inclined towards UPSC civil services exam.
