Answer: It's a specialised field that is closely related to biomedical science and pharmaceutical industry. Pharmacist's work basically includes manufacturing drugs and administering prescribed drugs to patients across various dispensaries. Their services are also required in Medicinal Research and development activities.
This field is open for those students only who have cleared 10+2 in biology subject.Major courses include, two-year Diploma in Pharmacy, four-year Bachelor of Pharmacy and two-year Master of Pharmacy. Admission is usually granted based on 10+2 marks or, in some institutes, based on entrance exams. The major institutes offering courses in pharmacy includes -- Bihar College of Pharmacy (Patna), Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology (Muzaffarpur), BHU (Varanasi), Bundelkhand University (Jhansi), College of Pharmacy (Delhi), Jamia Hamdard University (Delhi) to name a few.
