The Chhattisgarh Government has approved the merger of `shikshakarmi' with the state school education department with effect from July 1. The decision is expected to benefit around 1.50 lakh shikshakarmi who are currently working under Panchayats and urban local bodies.

The state government of Chhattisgarh has reduced the rate of interest on loan given to women and their self-help groups under Saksham Yojna. The rate of interest on loans has been cut from 6.5 per cent to 5 per cent to benefit more women and their SHGs under the Yojna.

The Chhattisgarh High Court has ordered the state government to grant books and uniform instead of cash to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) students studying in private schools under Right to education. The High Court issued the order to the Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh Government.
