Government notifies terms of Electoral Bonds

In a bid to cleanse the system of political funding in the country, the Government of India notified the Scheme of Electoral Bonds. With the issuance of electoral bonds, the donors can purchase electoral bonds from specific State Bank of India (SBI) branches, and receiving political parties can encash them only through a designated bank account.

New species of blind fish discovered in Meghalaya

A New Zealand-based science journal Zootaxa revealed that a new species of blind fish has been discovered inside a cave in East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya. The fish was named as Schistura larketensis. It got its name from Larket village, where the cave has been found, to encourage local people to take up biodiversity conservation.
