President Ram Nath Kovind during his maiden two-day visit as head of the state to Rajasthan launched three public welfare schemes. The schemes aim to help the poor sections of the society to generate self-employment.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the project commencement of the Rajasthan oil refinery at Pachpadra in Barmer district of the state. The project was undertaken as a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and the Rajasthan government at a cost of Rs 43000 crores.
The state government of Rajasthan has passed a bill that increased the reservation quota for Other Backward Classes (OBC) from 21 per cent to 26 per cent. The Backward Classes Bill will provide reservation to the five ‘most backward’ OBC communities.
