Apurvi Chandela won Bronze in 10-m Air Rifle Women event at ISSF Rifle/Pistol World Cup in Changwon

Indian shooter Apurvi Chandela on 11 April 2015 won Bronze medal at the 10-meter Air rifle women final in the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Rifle/Pistol World Cup held in Changwon, South Korea.

Pejcic Snjezana of Croatia and Maksimovic Ivana of Serbia won the Gold and Silver medal respectively in the event.

Earlier, in 2014, Apurvi won the gold medal in the 10-m Air rifle event in the XX Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow, the United Kingdom.

With the present win, she has become the second Indian shooter to be qualified to represent India in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Jitu Rai had won the India's first Olympic quota place by winning the Silver medal in the 50-m Free Pistol Men event in the 51st ISSF World Championship held in Granada, Spain, in 2014.

Each country can win a maximum of 30 quota places in Olympic Games from a total of 15 shooting disciplines i.e. two from each discipline.
