Ashok Lavasa, appointed the New Civil Aviation Secretary

The ministry of civil aviation on 26 December 2013 appointed Ashok Lavasa , a Haryana cadre IAS officer of 1980 batch as new Civil Aviation Secretary .

He would take his new post on 1 January 2014.He will take charge from incumbent K.N.Srivastava.

About Ministry Of Civil Aviation
The Ministry of Civil Aviation of the Government of India is the nodal Ministry responsible for the formulation of national policies and programmes for development and regulation of Civil Aviation and for devising and implementing schemes for the orderly growth and expansion of civil air transport. Its functions also extend to overseeing airport facilities, air traffic services and carriage of passengers and goods by air.
