Australian Cricketer David Warner on 12 December 2014 completed 1000 Test runs in 2014. With this, he became the first opener to achieve the feat in one calendar year since England skipper Alastair Cook in 2012.
He scored his century in the second innings of the first cricket Test against India at the Adelaide Oval.
Also, he became the fifth batsman to complete 1000 Test runs in 2014. The other four are Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara (1486 runs), Angelo Mathews (1201), Mahela Jayawardene (1003 runs) and veteran Pakistan batsman Younis Khan who has accumulated 1213 runs.
The last Australian opener to reach the milestone was Simon Katich (1111 runs) in 2009.
