The Union Budget 2017 was presented by Finance Ministry Arun Jaitely in Parliament, which made certain changes in STT(Security Transaction Tax). The STT(Security Transaction Tax) is a turnover tax that an investor has to pay on the total consideration paid or received in a transaction in stock futures and options. STT was introduced in Union Budget 2004 and implemented from October 2004.
The changes in these taxes have been explained in a video by CA Girish Ahuja, Member of AP Shah Committee on Direct Taxes.
