Coronavirus cases state-wise update: Maharashtra worst-affected with 22,171 coronavirus cases

Coronavirus state-wise count in India: Maharashtra is the worst-affected state with 22,171 cases, followed by Gujarat with 8,194 cases, Tamil Nadu with 7204 cases and Delhi with 6923 cases.

Coronavirus state-wise update in India: The coronavirus cases in India have risen to 67,152 as of May 11, 2020. This includes a total of 44,029 active cases, 20,916 recoveries and 2,206 fatalities. According to the Union Health Ministry, there was a spike of 4,213 cases in the last 24 hours. 

Maharashtra is the worst-affected state with 22,171 confirmed coronavirus cases, followed by Gujarat that has a total of 8,194  COVID-19 cases. Tamil Nadu with 7204 cases surpassed Delhi, which has 6923 cases. The maximum number of coronavirus deaths have also been reported in Maharashtra, followed by Gujarat.

Kerala flattens Coronavirus Curve?

The state of Kerala has set an example for the entire world by being one of the only few states to have successfully flattened the coronavirus outbreak curve. The state, which at one point had the highest number of COVID-19 cases, managed to control the spread and currently has just 503 cases, among whom 474 have recovered and four deaths have been reported. 

Coronavirus Cases in World

Almost 4.12 million people have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic across the world and 2,82,872 people have lost their lives with the maximum number of fatalities being reported from the United States. Nearly 80,574 people have succumbed to the deadly virus in the US and 2,10,485 have recovered. Overall, the United States has the highest number of coronavirus cases with 13,64,517 cases, followed by Spain that has 2,24,390 cases and then Russia, which has 2,21,344 cases. 

Lockdown 3.0

The Home Ministry on May 1, 2020 announced extension of the lockdown for another two weeks till May 17, 2020. However, the government has allowed easing of restrictions in the orange and green zones. The red zone has also been given some relaxation with key industries allowed to re-open.
