Maharashtra's Palghar district issued a ‘Congo fever’ alert on September 29, 2020 after the virus was found in some of the neighbouring districts in Gujarat. 

2.(b) New Zealand 
India’s NITI Aayog and Embassy of the Netherlands, New Delhi have signed an SOI (Statement of Intent) to support the decarbonisation and energy transition agenda for accommodating cleaner and more energy. The signing took place on September 28, 2020.

3.(d) Kuwait
The ruler of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad-al Sabah passed away on September 29, 2020. He was admitted to the hospital in the United States where he breathed his last. He was flown to the US in July 2020 for further treatment after he underwent successful surgery for the unspecified medical issues.

India’s Reliance Industries Ltd. informed on September 30, 2020, that a private equity firm General Atlantic is all set to invest Rs. 36.75 billion in Reliance Retail Ventures, for a 0.84% stake in its retail arm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold a virtual bilateral summit with his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina in December 2020. The bilateral relations of the two neighbouring nations were reviewed during the sixth meeting of the Joint Consultative Commission (JCC), which was co-chaired by Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) praised the Odisha state government recently for its efficient COVID-19 management, despite witnessing a huge influx of migrants and tackling Cyclone Amphan during the crisis phase. 
 
7.(a) Tamil Nadu
The Tamil Nadu government on September 29, 2020 extended the COVID-19 lockdown till October 31, 2020, with more ease in restrictions. The announcement was made by the state’s Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.
 
8.(d) CBI Court
All 32 accused in the Babri Masjid Demolition Case were acquitted by a special CBI court in Lucknow. CBI judge Surendra Kumar Yadav, while pronouncing the verdict, stated that the demolition was not pre-planned.
