The first consignment of ‘red rice’ was flagged off on March 4, 2021, to the United States of America from Assam, giving a major boost to India’s rice export potential. Red rice is rich in iron and the variety is grown in the Brahmaputra valley of Assam, without using any form of chemical fertilizer. 

2. (a) Sweden
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a Virtual Summit with Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Löfven on March 5, 2021. This was the fifth interaction between the two leaders since 2015. PM Modi had visited Stockholm in April 2018 for the First India Nordic Summit.

New Zealand issued a Tsunami warning for its coastal areas on the night of March 4, 2021, after an M8.0 earthquake struck the country's northeastern coast. The threat level was later downgraded to Beach and Marine threat and all people who had evacuated were allowed to return.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on March 4, 2021 between Odisha and ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel for setting up a 12 million tonne integrated steel plant in Kendrapara district of Odisha with an investment of Rs 50,000 crores.
