Electricity regulator CERC recently lowered the eligibility threshhold thereby making it easier for the small renewable energy based projects to connect better to the inter-state transmission grid. Small hydro and renewable energy stations with generating capacity of 50 mw would now be able to connect to inter-state grid as against the earlier threshold capacity of 250 mw. CERC modified its grid connectivity regulations to facilitate the change.
