India aims to restore 26 million hectares of degraded land by 2030 to achieve an additional carbon sink of 2.5 to 3 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent, said PM Narendra Modi at the UN “High-Level Dialogue on Desertification, Land Degradation and Drought”.
The 7th National park in Assam, Dehing-Patkai, has unique faunal and floral diversity. It was recognized by the state government in 2004 when 111.19 sq km of the area was notified as Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary.
