Former Delhi state footballer Peter Gomes died

Former Delhi state footballer Peter Gomes died on 30 January 2015 due to heart-attack in a hospital at New Delhi. He was 60. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Born in 1955, Gomes started his playing career in 1980 with Delhi's famous Buddisht Blue Stars football club as a forward. Later, he switched to Shimla Youngs football club. In the 1990s, he represented Delhi state team in the Senior National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy.

During his playing career, Gomes regularly participated in Delhi league and tournaments like DCM, Durand Cup and others.
