Scientists, on 22 December 2010, discovered an anger gene known as HTR2B causing impulsive and violent behavior in human beings.

Scientists, on 22 December 2010, discovered a gene known as HTR2B causing impulsive and violent behaviour in human beings. HTR2B affects the production and detection of serotonin in the human brain. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter, which causes several human behaviours like violent anger, impulsiveness.

To discover HTR2B gene, Scientists picked out DNA (Deoxy-Ribonucleic Acid) from a number of volunteers who showed impulsive behaviours and compared those with the DNA of non-impulsive volunteers.
