HAL bagged 1090 Crore contract to supply 14 Do-228 Aircraft to IAF
Along with 14 Do-228 aircrafts, HAL will also supply six reserve engines, one flight simulator and associated equipment. The aircrafts will be manufactured by the Transport Aircraft Division (TAD) at Kanpur.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on 5 February 2015 bagged a Defence contract of 1090 crore rupees for supplying 14 Do-228 aircrafts to Indian Air Force (IAF) along with six reserve engines, one flight simulator and associated equipment.
HAL Do-228 aircraft will be manufactured by the Transport Aircraft Division (TAD) at Kanpur. Earlier, the division has manufactured 125 HAL Do-228 aircraft for various defence and other customers and has expertise in manufacturing of transport and trainer category of aircraft. This aircraft has also been exported to Seychelles and Mauritius.
