IIa Pathak social activist died at 80

Social activist IIa Pathak passed away due to prolonged illness in Ahmedabad on 9 January 2014. She was the founder of Ahmedabad Women’s Action Group (AWAG).

image IIa Pathak was the president of India Chapter of Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) and served as professor in H K Arts College.

She was the vice-President of Peoples Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) and she played a key role in movement for justice to the victims of 2002 riots of Gujarat.
