Indian-American Renu Khator elected as Chairperson of Board of Director of ACE

Indian-American Renu Khator on 18 March 2015 was elected as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the American Council on Education (ACE). ACE is the major coordinating body for US colleges and universities.

She was elected as the Chairperson of the ACE’s Board during the ACE's 97th Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.

She succeeded James H. Mullen Jr and she will serve for a period of one year.

Before becoming ACE Board Chairperson, Khator served as the vice-Chairperson of ACE.

Khator, born in Uttar Pradesh, is University of Houston President and System Chancellor since 2008. She is a scholar in the field of global environmental policy and has published numerous books and articles on the subject.
