IOA on 3 April 2014 announced to form an ad-hoc Committee to handle issues related to coaching and selection of Indian Boxing.
Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on 3 April 2014 announced to form an ad-hoc Committee to handle issues related to coaching and selection of Indian Boxing. IOA decided to form an ad-hoc committee so that the participation of Indian boxers and coaches in the international events was not hampered.
An Ad-hoc Committee will comprise six members under the chairmanship of Tarlochan Singh. Tarlochan Singh has years of experience in Olympic movement. The other members will be G.S. Sandhu and Kishan Narsi. G.S. Sandhu is the national coach while Kishan Narsi is the representative of India at the International Boxing Association (AIBA).
The committee will be approved by the AIBA and it will handle all issues like coaching and selection of Indian Boxers. The boxers will be funded by the Government of India.
