M Ravindran appointed as Chairman of Indraprastha Gas Limited
M Ravindran succeeded KK Gupta who has handed over the charge upon completion of his two-year tenure.
M Ravindran was on 9 February 2015 appointed as the Chairman of Indraprastha Gas Ltd, the firm that sells CNG in New Delhi.
He succeeded KK Gupta who has handed over the charge upon completion of his two-year tenure. Gupta is the Director (Marketing) of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL).
Presently, M Ravindran is Director (Human Resources) of state-owned gas utility firm GAIL (India) Limited. The post of chairman of IGL is rotated among GAIL and BPCL in every two years.
About Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL)
• IGL is a joint venture of GAIL (India) Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and Delhi Government.
• It is the sole supplier of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.
• It has around 9500 km of pipeline network and meets fuel requirements of over 7.7 lakh vehicles running on CNG in NCR through a network of 297 CNG stations.
• IGL is also supplying PNG to nearly 530000 households in Delhi and NCR towns.
