Maharashtra government launched online RTI application filing facility

Maharashtra government on 1 January 2015 launched online Right to Information (RTI) application filing facility. The e-filing facility will be available from 1 January 2015 on a trial basis.

The e-filing facility is available in both English and Marathi. It has an option status to inform applicants about the status of progress of their pleas.

The fee for the application can be paid via internet banking or debit or credit cards. Once the application is submitted a unique registration number will be used via SMS and email for the future reference of applicant.

At present, online filing of RTI application or first appeal is available only for the Mantralaya departments and not field offices of Maharashtra.
