Mark Selby won World Snooker Championship 2014

Mark Selby of England won the World Snooker Championship 2014 in Sheffield, England on 6 May 2014. He won the title against the defending champion Ronnie O Sullivan with 18-14 in the final. This is his first World title and he was runner-up in 2007. With this win he was ranked world no 1 in the Snooker.

Mark Selby, 30, won cash prize of 300000 pounds and he is the ninth player to win Triple Crown (World Championship, the Masters and UK Championship).

Earlier he won three Master titles (2008, 2010 and 2013) and a UK Championship in 2012.

The other titles include the Welsh Open in 2008 and the Shanghai Masters in 2011.

Champion O Sullivan won the World title for five times, ranked 19 and this was the first world final he lost.
