Modibo Keita was on 8 January 2015 appointed as the Prime Minister of West African nation Mali. His appointment was confirmed by Mali's President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita.
Modibo Keita succeeded Moussa Mara who resigned on 8 January 2015 under pressure from the President due to the strife-torn condition of the nation.
• Modibo Keita had previously served as the Secretary General of the Presidency of Mali.
• In 2002, Modibo Keita was appointed as the Prime Minister of Mali under the regime of President Alpha Oumar Konare.
• Keita in April 2014 was named as Mali's state representative for inter-Malian inclusive dialogue to bring together the government and rebels based in northern Mali.
