Nandita Chatterjee appointed as Secretary in the Union Ministry of HUPA

Nandita Chatterjee was on 2 February 2015 appointed as the Secretary in the Union Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation (HUPA).

Nandita Chatterjee succeeded Anita Agnihotri. Chatterjee's last assignment was as a Member-Secretary in National Commission for Women (NCW).

Nandita Chatterjee
• Chatterjee is a 1980 batch IAS Officer of West Bengal Cadre. She also holds Doctoral Degree in Sociology and Anthropology.
• She served as Collector of 24 Parganas and Hughli districts and as Chief Executive Officer of Calcutta Metropolitan Development Authority.
• Chatterjee also served in the Union Ministry of Rural Development and Union Ministry of Environment & Forests.
• She has served for over six years in the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and World Health Organisation(WHO). Her last international assignment was as Capacity Development Advisor, UNDP in Afghanistan.
