NASA Released 360-degree Images of Sun
NASA released the first 360-degree images and video of the entire sun for the first time.
NASA on 6 February 2011 released the first 360-degree images and video of the entire sun. The images were released after the twin STEREO probes moved into position on opposite sides of the sun. The satellites were launched in 2006. It became possible for the first time watch solar activity in its full three-dimensional glory. With the help of the available data great advances in theoretical solar physics and space weather forecasting can be made.
