Rajasthan Governor Prabha Rau died in Delhi on 26 April 2010. She hailed from the Kolhapur taluka in Maharashtra. Rau belonged to the illustrious Wasu family of Maharashtra.

John Wakefield Expired

John Wakefield, the torchbearer of Karnataka's first eco-tourism project expired on 26 April 2010. He started the Kabini River Lodge on the banks of the Kabini at Karapur in Mysore district. Wakefield was fondly known as ‘Papa’. He was the brand ambassador of Jungle Lodges and Resorts (JLR). He promoted wildlife conservation, sensitising visitors to the importance of protecting forest wealth and wild animals.

Dorothy Height Expired

Social activist Dorothy Height died at the age of 98 years on 20 April 2010. She was a pioneer of the 1960s movement and had joined historic marches with Martin Luther King Jr. She led the National Council of Negro Women for 40 years. 

Kanu Sanyal Died

Kanu Sanyal who co-founded the Naxalite movement with Charu mazumdar died on 23 March 2010. He had tried to prevent this degeneration of the organization into a terrorist group and attempted to maintain the organisations mass character thus precipitating the differences between him and Charu Majumdar.

Noted educationist Amrik Singh passed away on 24 March 2010. In his illustrious career that expanded over six decades he served as the vice-chancellor of Punjabi University in Patiala, held the position of the secretary general of Association of Indian Universities for over 17 years and had been a member of the National Integration Council. 

Sir Alec Bedser Died

Former Surrey and England cricketer, Sir Alec Bedser, died at the age of 91 on 4 April 2010. The fast bowler had received knighthood in 1997.

The real creative brain behind the design and development of the Mustang, Donald N. Frey died on 5 March 2010. As the lead engineer he spear-headed the design and development of the Mustang.

He Pingping Died

World's shortest man, He Pingping of China with a height 2 feet, 5.37 inches (74.6 cm) died in Italy on 13 March 2010. He died at the age of 21. He was suffering from primordial dwarfism.

Girija Prasad Koirala Died

Napelese democrat Girija Prasad Koirala, who wielded total control in the Nepali Congress from 1990 till recent months in 2010 and stood resolute against royal adventurism passed away on 20 March 2010. He was the last national-level politician of South Asia whose activism spanned the period from the Quit India Movement of the 1940s till current times.

Pravin Mahajan Expired

Pravin Mahajan convicted of the murder of his brother and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pramod Mahajan expired on 3 March 2010 at a hospital in Thane where he was undergoing treatment for brain hemorrhage. Pravin Mahajan was serving a life sentence for killing his brother and senior BJP leader Pramod Mahajan in 2006.

British Labour politician and writer Michael Mackintosh Foot expired on 3 March 2010. He remained a member of the British parliament from 1945 to 1955 and then from 1960 until 1992.

Digvijay Singh Expired

Indian Union Minister and MP from Banka Digvijay Singh died in London on 24 June 2010. Singh, who was Minister of State for External Affairs in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, was a five time member of the Parliament and in the last Lok Sabha election he had fought independently and was currently representing Banka constituency of Bihar in the Lok Sabha.
