PM Narendra Modi dedicates 35 PSA oxygen plants to nation- All you need to know!
The Prime Minister called the oxygen plants "vital healthcare infrastructure' for larger public benefit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 7, 2021 inaugurated 35 pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen plants established under the PM CARES fund across 35 states and union territories at an event at AIIMS Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.

While speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that with the efforts of the State Govt and the Centre, India will have 4,000 new oxygen plants, established under PM CARES. He said, "our country & hospitals here have become much more capable now."
The Prime Minister called the oxygen plants "vital healthcare infrastructure' for larger public benefit." He stated that on normal days, "India used to produce 900 metric tons of liquid medical oxygen a day. As the demand increased, India increased the production of medical oxygen by more than 10 times. This was an unimaginable goal for any country in the world, but India has achieved it."

India's Journey from importer to exporter of masks and kits: PM Modi
PM Modi noted that the facilities India prepared in such a short time to fight against Corona, show the capability of our country. He highlighted how a network of about 3000 testing labs were set up from just 1 testing lab. The Prime Minister also highlighted India's journey from an importer to exporter of masks and kits.
He spoke about how facilities of new ventilators were set up even in remote areas of the country and how there has been rapid and large-scale manufacturing of Made in India Corona Vaccine. He also mentioned how India launched the world's largest and fastest vaccination campaign and stated what India has done is a symbol of our determination, our service, our solidarity.

PM Modi noted that it is a matter of pride for every Indian that 93 crore doses of corona vaccine have been administered and very soon we will cross the 100 crore mark.
PM Modi also spoke about the CoWin platform saying that India has shown the way to the whole world by building the Cowin platform that how vaccination is done on such a large scale.
Prime Minister's Office stated that with the inception of these 35 PSA oxygen plants, all districts of the country will now have commissioned PSA oxygen plants. A total of 1,224 PSA oxygen plants have been funded under PM CARES all across the country, out of which more than 1,100 plants have been commissioned, providing an output of over 1,750 MT oxygen per day.
PMO further stated that the operations and maintenance of these plants have been ensured by training of more than 7,000 personnel. The oxygen plants come with an embedded Internet of Things (IoT) device for real-time monitoring of their functioning and performance through a consolidated web portal.
