The Ramon Magsaysay Award also known as Asia’s Nobel Prize is an award designed to honour people who have shown integrity in government, rendered courageous service to the people, and propagated pragmatic idealism within a democratic society. The prize was established in April 1957 by the trustees of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund (RBF) based in New York City with the concurrence of the Philippine government. The prize was created in memmory of Ramon Magsaysay, the late president of the Philippines.
The awards are given in six categories namely-
* Government Service
* Public Service
* Community Leadership
* Journalism, Literature and Creative Communication Arts
* Peace and International Understanding
* Emergent Leadership
In May 1957, seven Phillipine nationals were named to the founding board of trustees of the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation (RMAF). RMAF is the non-profit corporation which is responsible for implementing the awards program. In the 2000 the Foundation created a sixth Award category which is that of Emergent Leadership.

• Christopher Bernido and Ma. Victoria Carpio-Bernido, from the Philippines
• Huo Daishan, from China
• A.H.M. Noman Khan, from Bangladesh
• Pan Yue and Fu Qiping, from China
