Reliance Jio Infocomm President Sumit Dutta Chowdhury resigned

Telecom operator Reliance Jio Infocomm President Sumit Dutta Chowdhury on 7 February 2015 resigned to start his own venture.

He joined Reliance Jio in September 2012 as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for one year and then moved into business leadership role.

He was responsible for creating the ecosystem of companies that will build solutions on top of RJio platforms and network to provide interesting consumer services.

This is the third high-profile exit from Reliance Jio and second since January 2015 after its Managing Director Sandeep Das was moved to its sister concern Reliance Retail.

In March 2014, Arvind Rao who was looking after innovation business and strategies for the company had also quit to pursue his own interest. In November 2014, head of the Human Resources of Reliance Jio Steve Correa had left the company.
