SAIL Commenced Revival Process for Jagdishpur unit

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) on 26 July 2010commenced the revival process for its Jagdishpur unit. The foundation for a TMT Bar Mill of 1.5 lakh tonnes per annum (tpa) capacity was laid by the Steel Secretary, Atul Chaturvedi, and C S Verma, Chairman, SAIL.

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) on 26 July 2010commenced the revival process for its Jagdishpur unit. The foundation for a TMT Bar Mill of 1.5 lakh tonnes per annum (tpa) capacity was laid by the Steel Secretary, Atul Chaturvedi, and C S Verma, Chairman, SAIL. The TMT Bar Mill would be set up by SAIL at a cost of Rs 46 crore in the first phase of JSU's revival plan. The proposed facilities and product-mix envisaged in the first phase would include a 10000 tpa cold forming line and a 13000 tpa corrugation line. The total cost of JSU's first phase revival is estimated to be Rs 100 crore.
