Sivanthi Adithan, the Former Sports Administrator and Media Magnate Died at 76

Sivanthi AdithanSivanthi Adithan, the former sports administrator as well as media magnate died in Chennai on 19 April 2013 because of illness. He was 76 years of age. He is survived by his wife, daughter and a son.

About Sivanthi Adithan

• Sivanthi Adithan was the owner of Tamil daily Dina Thanthi. Thanthi Group in turn owns different media sectors such as Thanthi TV and Dina Thanthi.
• He received Padma Shri award for contributions to Education and Literature in the year 2008.
• He was an industrialist, educationist as well as a philanthropist.
• He also served as the President of Indian Olympic Association.
• Popularly he was also known as Chinna Ayya.
• He was conferred by the International Olympic Committee with the Olympic Order of Merit for development in Education and Sports in the year 1995.
