• Sivanthi Adithan was the owner of Tamil daily Dina Thanthi. Thanthi Group in turn owns different media sectors such as Thanthi TV and Dina Thanthi.
• He received Padma Shri award for contributions to Education and Literature in the year 2008.
• He was an industrialist, educationist as well as a philanthropist.
• He also served as the President of Indian Olympic Association.
• Popularly he was also known as Chinna Ayya.
• He was conferred by the International Olympic Committee with the Olympic Order of Merit for development in Education and Sports in the year 1995.
