Moser Baer Clean Energy Ltd (MBCEL), a subsidiary of Moser Baer Projects Private Ltd (MBPPL), in December 2010 commissioned solar farm at Sivaganga in Tamil Nadu. The Sivaganga solar plant is one of the India’s largest and the first 5-MW solar plant in the country. MBCEL received the technical expertise for commissioning from the engineering procurement commissioning arm of Moser Baer Solar Ltd. The Sivaganga solar plant solar farm that is connected to the 110-kVA local grid has been commissioned using amorphous silicon thin film technology which is considered the best for Indian climate. The solar power project that was awarded by Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) is being implemented by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. The solar power project was awarded to Moser Baer Clean Energy Ltd on the basis of a global bid.
