Sports Ministry Formed Committee to Suggest Use of Stadia

Indian Sports ministry constituted a committee to suggest utilisation of stadia built for the CWG.

The Indian Sports ministry constituted a committee to suggest utilisation of stadia built for the Commonwealth Games in order to enable national teams to train there. The committee comprising sportspersons such as P T Usha, Mary Kom, Baichung Bhutia and Dilip Tirkey and veteran journalist K Datta and headed by the secretary of sports will have to suggest within four weeks on ways to best utilise the stadia. All the stadia of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) would be used by national teams to prepare for the 2012 London Olympics as well as for hosting competitions. The responsibility for the maintenance of the stadia was entrusted with NDMC, SAI and the CPWD.
