Specialty chemicals firm SRF Limited on 1 January 2015 acquired the pharmaceutical propellant business brand Dymel of American chemical firm DuPont for 20 million US dollars.
Highlights of the acquisition
• SRF will own the DuPont Dymel brand and will also receive the technology for setting up its own current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) facility for manufacturing HFC 134a Pharma grade.
• DuPont will supply SRF with the product from its existing facility till SRF’s production facility is approved.
• This transaction provides immediate access to SRF on DuPont’s technology, brand and customers, thus enabling its instant entry into the pharmaceutical segment at a global level.
