1. (b) India
India has become the Vice Chair of the Asia Pacific Region of World Customs Organisation (WCO) for a period of two years, from July 2018 to June 2020. The WCO is an independent intergovernmental body whose mission is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of Customs administrations.
2. (c) France
The 2018 FIFA World Cup ended with France being crowned the world champions. The French team with 4-2 scorecard triumphed over Croatia, in one of the highest-scoring finals ever. The win comes for France, 20 years after they claimed their first FIFA title- in 1998.
3. (a) Luka Modric
Croatia’s captain, Luka Modric won the Golden Ball award for best player in the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament. Croatia led by Modric, who started out as underdogs, became a force to reckon with after their splendid performance against Argentina in the group stage. They not only defeated the South American team with a wide margin, but they also topped their group rankings and went on to defeat several other big teams to enter their first-ever World Cup finals.
4. (b) Ministry of Corporate Affairs
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has constituted a 10 Member Committee to review the penal provisions in the Companies Act, 2013. The committee will be required to examine the nature of all ‘acts’ categorised as compoundable offences and recommend if any of such ‘acts’ may be re-categorised as ‘acts’, which attract civil liabilities where the company and its ‘officers in default’ are liable for a penalty.
5. (c) IDBI
Life Insurance Corporation of India's (LIC's) board has approved acquiring up to 51 per cent stake in the state-run IDBI Bank. Now LIC will approach markets regulator Sebi. Insurance regulator Irdai has already given its approval to the insurer for the stake purchase.
6. (a) Kylian Mbappe
France’s 19-year-old Kylian Mbappe became the only second teenager after the Brazilian football legend -Pele to score in a World Cup final. Mbappe scored his side's fourth goal as France beat Croatia 4-2 in the World Cup final in Moscow on July 15 and won the tournament's best young player award.
7. (d) Bangladesh
India on July 15, 2018 signed a revised travel agreement with Bangladesh to ease visa restrictions for citizens from the neighbouring country. The agreement was signed between the two countries in Dhaka in presence of visiting Home Minister Rajnath Singh and his counterpart Asaduzzaman Khan.

China said on July 16, 2018 that it plans to launch 300 low-orbit satellites to provide worldwide communication services, with the first in the series to be launched later this year. Known as the Hongyan constellation, the first in the 300-satellite array is set to be launched by the end of this year. The constellation will be built in three stages.

The World Youth Skills Day was observed across the world on July 15. The day is commemorated to raise awareness on the importance of investing in youth skills development. Rising unemployment among the youth is one of the most significant problems faced by the economies and societies in today’s world.
10. (d) Helsinki
US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held their first summit at Helsinki in Finland on July 16, 2018. Trump's meeting with Putin comes days after a federal grand jury indicted 12 Russian intelligence officials on charges of hacking the servers of the Democratic National Committee and that of its 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
