The Union Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) on 3 November 2014 approved 90 crore rupees for various road projects in Arunachal Pradesh for fiscal 2014-15.
The investment will be a part of total 120.41 crore rupees for 17 road projects for which state shares were cleared and utilization certificates submitted to the Ministry of DONER.
Construction of airport at Tawang is a part of the above project, which will not only help from the defence point of view but will also improve the socio-economic condition of the people. It will improve the road connectivity in the remote border districts that has remained isolated from mainland India.
